This is the final render of my scene, or almost as area_lights are switched
off here, and a slight focal blur is needed to render correctly the
catenaries in the background. Everything else however is finished.

The Final final render will take time however as it is extremely slow
(media+focal blur+area lights).

Thomas

This looks great Thomas, really nice attention to detail. I'm looking forward to
the final TC-RTC render. I see Dr. No has been very busy again this round, good
luck!

A great image and I am really looking forward to see the rest of the
competition. I only wonder about the "halos" around the lights, are the bulbs
outside their screening or inside? If outside it is o.k., but inside they must
have an aspect more like a cone and not radiating in all directions like the
spheres you did.

Regards,

And it looks good too.

I don't understand that. It only took me two minutes to render it and I
had to enlarge and develop it. :-P

Great.
The photo was taken in the 50's, this is about half a century earlier,
maybe some more... ;)

Don't forget to use adaptive for those area_light.

Looking great so far, Thomas!

Will you be using area_illuminating area_lights for this?

You won't be using radiosity, though? Low-res, fading area_lights at each source
for bounced light wouldn't hurt, though it will most definitely make the render
times higher...

You probably already know this, but when area_lights and focal blur are
combined, you can reduce the area_light samples if jittering is enabled...

The final render is going to look awesome :)

Thank you, Sam!

Well, I am not sure about this new feature and have not yet experimented
with it...

Radiosity is on here, though. It is really needed for overall illumination
of the dark parts by a screen behind the camera.

Yes, I have been testing several sample values to get the lowest possible.

I hope so :-)
