Here's my wip for the CGSociety lighting challenge #26:

As the kid is watching the movie his prankster "friend" sneaks up behind to dump
a cold beverage on him, which explains the look on his face.

I UV mapped the seats and think this is finally starting to come together.

Cheers,
Rob

Seat texture looks great.

The "friend's" arm looks somewhat weird; doesn't seem plausible to me
that there's someone attached to it, so to me it looks more like that
Creepy Animated Arm from the horror movie the kid is watching.

Thanks, I don't much like the tedium of UV mapping but these seat cushions were
pretty easy; they definitely needed it.

Yep, the arm /is/ a little weird right now - I'm trying to sort that out.

Funny.
I like the fabric of your seats.

The problem is the *right* arm in that position. It's owner would need
to stand his back against the seat and swing back and overhead to
acheive that pose. Somewhat awkward.

Now, you need to add the dring and some nice ice cubes.

Yes, that right arm was /really/ wrong and I'm still working on the perpetrator,
but it's going to be a casual walk-by, "oops, I 'accidentally' spilled my coke
on you."

I finished up the actual drink spillage this afternoon: quick geometry render
test on the left, full texturing under scene lighting on the right.

The liquid is very convincing, how did you modeled it?
;-)

Wow! I prefer coke with ice though, not ice with coke ;-)

Thanks :)
I used Silo 2 to deform a box into the basic forms, then the sculpting tools to
smooth and stretch everything into detailed splashy shapes. Also added some
deformed spheres as droplets flying around.

The ice cubes are just many instances of a single mesh (a box with some randomly
perturbed vertices), randomly rotated and scattered out.

Heh, me too! But the snack bar kids always seem to fill the cup to the brim with
ice, and then whatever little remaining volume with cola.

Basic economy:
one m^3 of water (1000 l) cost about 3€ (from tap, around here).
one m^3 of cola would cost around 800€ (from the price for 1 l when
buying a 2l bottle @ 1.6€).(it's already overpriced)

Ergo, the maximum profit is for more ice, less cola... as long as it is
still callable a drink.

Second interesting profit: ice is bigger than water, so for the same
weight, the volume is bigger with more ice. The bigger it is, the
happier the customer... put more ice!

Software is like dirt - it costs time and money to change it and move it
around.

Just because you can't see it, it doesn't weigh anything,
and you can't drill a hole in it and stick a rivet into it doesn't mean
it's free.
