At last! The macro that many users wanted to see or write.
Excellent job!

Looks excellent ! Something I have been dreaming for...

Can you give a few details on the method:

  - does it work with a single spline, or do you need to specify two (or
more) ?

- does the spline needs to lie in a plane ? If not, how the orientation
of the road is chosen ?

- how do you apply textures ?

Thank you !

Thibaut

Nice. Very nice.

But 3 ways highways ? (is it 1 in, 1 shared, 1 out, or part of a 2x3 ways ?)

Yummy yummy yummy!

Software is like dirt - it costs time and money to change it and move it
around.

Just because you can't see it, it doesn't weigh anything,
and you can't drill a hole in it and stick a rivet into it doesn't mean
it's free.

Unfortunately, I just needed it for two 7s animations, so I'll probably
never find the time to finish it :(

But I'll try anyway! :)

1 spline, it's up to the user to make sure the spline results in a
decently shaped highwat

doesn't need to lie on a plane, although loopings are not supported
(haven't tried them actually, but the supports always go in the -y
direction. It might work if the looping itself doesn't have supports!)

the orientation of the road is based on the direction of the spline
(using vcross)

UV-mapping for the road itself, ordinary texturing for the rest.

2x3 I suppose :)

Hehe, yes I'm one of those too.
