I love World Machine. I often combine it with GeoControl nowadays.

No, it's not PoVghanistan... definitely too humid!

The slopes still look quite terraced... what about eroding them somewhat 
stronger, but keeping the whole thing recognizable?

Ah, actually there is an explicit step creating the terraces,
so the effect could be reduced there as well. But it is true the
terracing looks much stronger in the final image as compared to
the preview in world machine. So, to see what would happen, I
now rendered a version with "geological timescale" erosion.
