Forgive me for posting again so soon, but it seems the more actual work I
have to do, the more raytracing I end up doing instead. Does that make me
an addict of some kind?

The tower is made in SDL. I love the Ivy Generator, so I took advantage of
it again in this render. Not a complicated image, but I liked it so I
though I'd post it.

Beautiful structure! That moon is scary big, but it looks good,
nevertheless :)

Thank you!

That's the wonderful thing about raytracing: you don't have to play by the
rules--you can make images you'll never find through the lens of a camera.

I won't forgive you for *not* posting! :-)
This is a magnificent image and very well done.
I think that the Moon is close to the Roche Limit, so it probably will break
up pretty soon :-) Might generate magnificent meteorite strikes and a ring
around the Earth... oh well, just dreaming...

That's interesting that you would say that, since I had just started working
on an image of a meteorite...

Hi Kirk!

Very nice image! The tower is a bit dark, though. Perhaps a fill-light
could help. And of course you need a imprisoned princess standing in the
tower, gazing over the horizont and dreaming of a prince to rescue her ;)

And, as the others already told you, don't be afraid of posting more
than one image in a year, especially if they're that nice :)

Regards,
Florian

Hi Kirk, congratulations, I love this image. And it is because long ago I
tried to do something similar and I failed. You can see my try here.

In the image called "Balin y Balan" there is a kind of tower in the
background. I tried to do something beautiful (as your image) but as I said
I failed. And I did this stupid and simple construction. So again,
congratulations.

You are far too modest. After seeing your picture there and the other
images (how many of them are yours?) I consider this a high complement!

I like this very much!
The roof might be worth some extra work, perhaps, but that is nitpicking.

Any chance to have a look at the tower-part of the code? I suspect you have
some very usefull macros there. I'm about to start over making some renders
(after some years of only watching your work here) and that may help me to
get
on the right track again.

Thank you for the nice image,

Marc-Hendrik
