This is a quick post relating to my main post in povray.beta-test...
Rendered in POVRay 3.6.1c the output file was called ssc4.bmp
Rendered in POVRay 3.7.0.beta16 the output file was called ssc4.tga
The source file was posted a month or so back on povray.binaries.images.. I
am sorry I can't remember who posted it...

FYI, that's my source file, soon to be a povray short code contest entry :)
It relies heavily on the default settings in povray, so if those have
changed between versions it will look different.

I hope you didn't mind me using it... I've been using it to discover how the
isosurface works in use. It seemed a good file to use as a benchmark.
It does appear that V3.7 does use a different default value for
assumed_gamma which explains the lightness of the image... However the file
extension problem has been confirmed as a bug, but no-one has explained the
60% speed decrease!
BTW I use the ssc4 image as a windows wallpaper... so simple yet beautiful!

Ooh that would explain it, if it's assuming 1 then next time there's an SCC
I should be able to get better looking pictures!
