I've resumed my experiments with skin textures. Here I just used a
photographic texture I found on the net. It is a sample from www.3d.sk,
which sells unfolded scans and reference photos for 3D artists. There is
no media SSS, but I created a material_map based on the same texture to
give different finishes to the different parts of the face (it's just a
BW version slightly tweaked with the Gimp).
P.S.: Yes, I know my organic modeling skills suck: that nose is really ugly!

Well, and with the kind of eyes he got, I'd say he is pretty drunk!
And he looks somewhat dangerous too... some "good" bad-guy I'd say ;-)
So to me the eye is laking texture, maybe too bright a blue and
the veins are not enough branched and too red IMO.
Good work anyway!

Superb. The modelling is especially good. "No one" (i.e., I don't) wants
to see exhaustive photorealism of perfectly shaped heads. Many find it
creepy. What is appealing is seeing what looks like photographs of
alternative worlds, with their plausible physiology and physics.

The skin/lip texture looks really good to me I guess it is the slightly red
nose that makes him look drunk, but I think this adds to the realism.

It is not somebody you would pass unnoticed in the streets! An example from
Lombroso's cabinet? I would say that this is the first evidence for
Neanderthal Man still living in our society.
Very well done, Jaime. The skin texture looks good, a little too reddish
perhaps...

Yes, I also had that first impression of "bad guy". Perhaps is the
"Neanderthal" looking pointed by Thomas...

Yep, the eyes texture is procedural. It looks a bit better when I add
some media and transparency, but still needs work.

Yeah... but that's difficult to achieve for me. Only by luck, like this
time.

No, or at least not consciously... I must admit I resemble a bit this
guy, except for the big nose. :)
