This is a test I made of applying a texture to a dial face. The texture was 
generated procedurally using MegaPOV, then the resulting image was imported 
back into this scene as the dial face.

Is there any chance of sharing how you actually made the texture in MegaPOV?

Why did you have to use MegaPOV? Wouldn't it be possible to use the 
object-pattern to achieve the same effect? (Just curious)

I used MegaPOV to generate the texture because of the h_align_center and 
v_align_center
modifiers available to the text object. It makes it a lot easier to 
accurately align the numbers on the dial face.
