Bonus points if you can correctly guess what inspired this image.

I can't help but feel that it will be some modern anime thing that I
never seen or heard of. Picasso's blue period comes to mind. The
absinth drinker?

The former, actually, I borrowed a shot of Rei from the opening of Neon
Genesis Evangelion.

Requiem for a dream movie ;) ?
Image - nice, I like its colors and use of media, one problem - the model
had imho un-natural head-neck-bocy positions, head is little to far moved
forward and neck looks a little strange, but probably this could be fixe
easely?

One thing that poser doesn't do: muscle volume continuity. If you would bend
your an arm, leg or another member of your body, you'd compress muscle
tissue. That would cause the surrounding tissue to bulge out.

Poser doesn't support a "whole body" paradigm (meaning that it has no
concept for "muscle" or "skin"), but local deformations are supported using
a technology called Joint Controlled Morphs. It allows a body part to affect
its neighbours, provided that the corresponding morphs (such as a bulging
biceps) are available of course.
