Hi all:
I've been working a little in this Torii (it's the name for the gate
to the entrance of some temples in Japan).
I think modelling is almost finished (textures are provisional).
It's pure CSG (only cones, cubes, spheres and cylinders)
made in Moray.
Do you have any ideas, comments, to improve it?
Well, if you don't, I hope you like it. ;-)

Can anyone tell me why I expected to see lots of donuts here?
Nothing to say about the modelling... looking forward to see it with proper
textures.
I like it.

The curved part looks off-center, is it supposed to be like that?

<Hello,
< This looks just like the one at Miyajima where the torii sits in the water
at high-tide, facing Hiroshima.
< I like it a lot.
Hi.
In fact it's based on a photograph of the Torii of Itsukushima.
I have found a new photo that shows that the roof is wrong 'cause
it needs two pieces that I haven't seen in the first one due to the
perspective. I'll change that.
< How did you do the curved part along the top?
/* Remember that this has been made with Moray
"So you need to make a scale <-1,1,1> and a proper rotation
in order to get the same object in POV-Ray. (Warp)" */
difference {

scale <38.0, 3.0, 2.0>
rotate -90.0*x
translate <0.0, -1.0, 38.5>
}
cylinder { // Cylndr010
<0,0,1>, <0,0,0>, 1

}

translate <37.836761, 0.0, 38.758323>
}
}
< Are you going to model the rest of the temple?
Maybe, a journey always starts with one step. ;-)
See you.
