This is a somewhat modified version of the
image I posted to this group 7. Nov. 2000:

This time I have modified both the surface and
the pigment by a function that are controlled
by a "wrinkled" noise.
What do you think of it ?
Is it too noisy now ?

Maybe you should smooth the background with some fog or so.
I have another suggestion, but you won't like it: radiosity. ;-)

Yes, that may be a possible solution.
- But I'm not familiar with POV-fog at all...
In the "Toroidal iso-noise" image I tried
to make the background darker by using a
fading main light source.

I wonder how radiosity will look like with
all those "columns" blocking the light.
I'm afraid that the light won't "reach" very
far away from the light source.
What do you think about that Christoph ?
And where would be a good place to put the
light source ?
(In the scene posted I used no_shadow for
the iso-surface.)
