I just thought I would share some more pattern-
modified iso shapes.

Now take the nest step and make an actual iso-cave. :)

Yes, that's what I would like to do. =)

Psychomek's "Stalagmites" comment triggered my fantasy.

But I need to do some more experimenting first to see
if I can figure out more iso-tricks.

Some low-error radiosity (and perhaps a very faint specular, to add a
little more definition to the highlights) would kick much ass here, but
I shudder to think of what it might do to the render time. :)

Hi Tor

You Have inspired me with this I made some columns using this pattern trick
and I just about to create an architectural fantasy around them

One question; I get a vertical line on my columns where the patern meets and
doesn't line up - how have you avoided this.

Hello Xplo.

I'm sorry to say, but I haven't tried any radiosity
stuff yet, so I wouldn't know how to do this. :(

And I'm not good at modifying those other settings
that you mention either.

But I'll try to figure out how to adjust them the
right way.

Thanks.

Hello Mick

I'm glad that I have inspired you :)

The above description sounds like the same
problem as I met too.

I've forgot what exactly caused this, and I
haven't been able to make the code generate
them again.

So therefore I'll just post the source code
for the "spikes" image so that maybe you can
work it out yourself.

(I believe that the error had something to do
with the floor part in the MidOfAgateSquare
function. The cones seemed to pick up pattern
values from neighbour squares. The +0.5
offset in this function was also in error.)

If this doesn't help, then you may show me
what you are doing and I'll try to spot the
error again.

Regards,

Tor Olav
