Yup, made a desert eagle the "easy" way, with prisms.

It's for a intro to a 3d game (counter-strike) movie.

Have a look!

I really like the model, but I'm not too sure about the texture :-/
what's the texture you're using ?

Thanks!

Nope the texture is just standard_metal_something.
Only had (two days - work)+rendering=to complete animation. ;P

Any tips on how to make the texture more realistic,
as in a bit scratched or something. Scratched surface?

The model looks pretty close compared to the images I could find on the
web. Nice work. :-)

Thanks! And if you only look at it once (when used as an intro) you
hopefully wont notice that there are for example no clip, etc.. XD

Here's a link to the final movie, made by CrazyBeaver.

Take notice: 140MB

Ah my favorite gun, so stylish.

A good way to improve textures when using metal is to instead improve
the reflections. You might want to try adding an HDRI sphere with a
no_image tag, and making your current background part of a sphere with a
no_reflection tag. Then you will get realistic reflections in the metal
that contrast better with your current scene. Just make sure the two
don't conflict with each other (like using the gallileo probe with a
dark cloudy background).

You might also want to try adding some reflection blur, I think somebody
has a macro for that online (or you could blur the HDRI map), and play
with the variable reflection settings. Looks great though, especially
considering it was modeled with prisms. Here's my take on the gun:
