I've been working some more on my particle system, and it now supports
cyclic animation.

I've also made the system frame-independent, which means that the results
are the same no matter if you use 10, 50 or 117 frames in your animation,
and it also supports still images.

I plan to make it into a general purpose particle system that can simulate
everything from glitter, fireworks, smoke, fountains, waterfalls, etc.

Collision detection will probably not be in the first version though...

I'll keep you updated! :)

very cool ... looks like a sparkler burning in the night while being
waved in a circle. I'm anxious to see what it looks like with a few
objects about.

I think we are not using the same kind of sparklers then! ;)

Any ideas what these objects could be?

Yes, very cool indeed. You make it sound simple, but I don't have the
beginning of an inkling of an idea how you did it.
What anim codec did you use? My Media Player doesn't cycle (w2k OS) :(
Xing does, but with a longish stop at the end...

It's explained roughly in the thread "Fairies?".

I used mpeg1 I think, but not with the standard bitrate or resolution. I
don't know if that makes a difference.
