It doesn't look like a landscape at all now, no matter whether you're using
iso of hf.
The hf version seems to be flipped along the y.

I can confirm there is something strongly going wrong, since the scene
file has not changed there must be some difference in POVRay that causes
this.

It seems to have something to do with the pattern, try 'Viewpoint=2' and
you will see the orientation of the heightfield is correct but the
structure of the pattern looks different now.

I don't have time to investigate more detailed right now.

And all the trees are under the ground, so you can't see them.

It looks like the detailed structure of the agate pattern has changed,
and viewpoint 1 has ended up being below ground level. This has
different effects on the iso than the hf because the iso is closed (so
what you see is an extreme close-up of the vertical wall) and the hf is
open (so you see the ground surface from underneath).

An increase in the z co-ordinate of the camera makes it look like a
landscape again. E.g.

#if (Viewpoint=1)
  camera {
    location    <3.7, -0.55, 1.3>

I moved the camera forward a bit by removing the negative sign from 0.55
(the y value) and also using noise_generator 2 in global_settings. That
give a nice landscape scene again, unfortunately I couldn't remember what
this scene looked like before and I didn't have the original image. It does
look familiar still anyway.
Looking through the Revision.txt file I don't see anything that would
explain the change, unless it goes all the way back to this:

Change 1230 by nkopp@impulse on 2001/10/28 15:41:37

  fix some noise generator issues.
  Some textures were tweaked to work with the old (broken) noise
  generator, so they had to be adjusted so that they work in a
  similar way with all three noise generators.

Or I just don't recognize what it would be, overlooked it, whatever.

P.S. There's been plenty of great fixes and changes, so I must say thanks
for all that effort POV-Team!
