Hello people.

Wanting to experiment a bit with media, I enabled scattering in a scene,
and, after maybe 4000 pixels (of 480000), I get 'Out of memory'. I
haven't really found much references to this error on the 'net, or in the
POV-ray docs, so I wonder if I'm doing something wrong here?

The scene is certainly not overly complicated. I suppose the memory
referenced is RAM memory? I have 2 GB of that, with another 2 in swap
memory. I'm running on AMD64, in a self compiled POV-ray (last beta).

Anything I can do?
John

Try decreasing the number of light sources in your scene and see if it
still throws the error - I reported what may be the same error back in
beta31:
http://news.povray.org/povray.beta-test/thread/%3C49baa5cc%241%40news.povray.org%3E

I never saw an answer if it was actually fixed.

Yes, that is likely the same error. I have aproximately the same
number of light sources in the scene, and I tried to change other
elements with no luck. The version in use here is 3.7.0beta34, so it
seems no progress was made on that front.

Thanks for the reply
John
