There are a few language specific characters in POV-Help 8.1 and 8.2.3.
Here is the image of those characters on Japanese Windows.

Trademark sign should be probably replaced with superscript or unicode code
http://www.unicode.org/charts/PDF/U2100.pdf
Jerome should be "Jérôme" probably
Looks like in help Rene and René can coexist ;-)

I think
<FONT SIZE="-1">TM</FONT>
is the classical way, but of couse unicode is more elegant.

Feel free to use ™ , the doc generator can always replace it by
something supported by Netscape. ™ is a standard entity in HTML 4.0
and has been supported by most browsers, except by Netscape 1.x-4.x also it
would have been a one line change in their code to fix it years ago :-(

Not really.
All I get is :"Horse, (sun/day or say) and (dry/dryness or protection)",
with 17 lines (10 + 4 +3).
Alas, it is not part of the japanese 1940 recommended symbols,
so it must really be some advanced one (or just a chinese).
It would be rather strange if it was only : "horse body dried by the sun"
