I love it! It's like a dream come true! This will save a lot of time and
frustration. Just for fun, I converted a cube to mesh (6 faces) and divided
it up to 16 faces per side (96 faces total) in about 3 minutes.

3 MINUTES?? I can do that in 5 seconds:
Click on Cube.
Click on Convert to Mesh
Press Tab (starts the mesh editor)
Press 'D' (switch to edge mode)
Hover mouse over view and press 'A' (Select All)
Press 'S' (Split)
Press 'A' (select All)
Press 'S' (Split)

Yes, works great!
I played around a bit last evening, but was to tired to try it
seriously. At the time I learned to predict, how the splitting
algorithm works, it was fun.
But I had a few crashes(GPF) and errors(Irregular mesh). I was unable
to recreate them, but took a sceenshot.
I posted it to moray.binaries, maybe someone can take a look at it.
I hope there will be a beta2, where selections from the mesh-editor
stay persistent between TAB switches. It still bothers me a little,
that I loose everything when I leave the editor.

Now that's getting serious! I just tried it that way; it took 15 seconds.

If you can ever get a GPF to occur, I'd like to know how.....
irregular mesh is not that hard to create, but it shouldn't crash,
instead it should be selecting the offending faces....

Hi Lutz,
found one, probably in the new splitting function.
create standard poly cube
select the 2 vertical edges on the side facing the camera (in the
new_scene_mdl)
split them
upper right quad is not splitted correctly.
greets
Arne
