Hi Scott

The lightsabre is ok for me, but I have two suggestions :

Artistic : I've taken out the material of all the rounded cubes of the
back_wall (I kept the one of the cube), and give the material "RoughStone"
to the group "back_wall" itself, this avoid the identity of each brick.

Technical : may be you should use "Reference" when you duplicate objects, so
that you have only one to change when you ever need to (and maybe it has an
effect on parsing/rendering time, I didn't check).

Philippe

(I mean to help not to criticize)

This would benifit GREATLY from the photon patch.. I TRUELY can't wait
untill it's officially supported, and Moray has it as well..

Um, Tom, why would it need the photon patch? AFAIK, the photon patch deals entirely
with creating accurate reflections/refractions, neither of which I have seen occur
in a lightsaber...but maybe I am wrong, having never used hte photon patch.

As for that, prehaps you ought to lobby for it on moray.windows, or program a
plugin for moray that will add the given photon definitions to the exported file.

You Know You've Been Raytracing Too Long When:
You think to yourself "cool lens flare effect" while you're watching REAL
lensflares on TV, off car windscreens, etc

Hi there. I'm rendering your scene right now.

Now, I'm not much of a povray /moray person. I've just started.

However, I have done a few renders of lightsabers last year on 3d studio MAX.
If you wan't. I can send you some rendered pics to give you some ideas of what they
look like.

You can email me at:

Thanks.
Ya, I'd actually lost the bricks and stuff for now. The first renders of a lightsaber
have best
effect in the dark. Once you have the dark renders mastered (no background), then go
for objects in
the back.
