*sigh* and still nothing--not even a word to say, "hey, we hear you,
we're working on it". Sadly, this has taken the wind out of my sails,
and taken away my interest in the next round. Time to go sniff around
CGTALK I think...

If this 100 dollar prize for Povray users does not bring back the populace,
will the cash prize still be continued?

I'll continue the bonus at least through the end of this year,
then re-evaluate. Numbers are not as important to me as
the level of sharing, tutorials, and quality. The bonus will
begin for the March-April round; maybe I should delay the
bonus announcement until a few days after the official
winners are announced?
I haven't talked to them about this but I believe the IRTC
admins have been worn out for some time, just going
through the motions, but finding someone reliable to do
the work is difficult and also requires some work.
I've always felt a 3-month cycle would be better and made
that suggestion some time ago, but others preferred
the 2-month competition.

How much, and which bits of the process are handled manually?
I'm not being rude - from experience, I quite understand how such
commitments can get out of hand and become a real pain (which is why I'm not
offering to take any responsibility ;).
Still, if nothing more, I'm sure many members of the community would be
willing to help in some way - for example if more automation would reduce
the burden.

I understand the two month turn around completely. It seems to fit most
people's time-line. But if these admins can not handle the stress of a two
month turn around, then what choice do we have? Might as well just make
both the anim and stills contest 3 months then. I remember one contest
where I did not even start it until half the contest timeline was over
becasue no one even updated what the new contest was supposed to be about!
If it were 3 months, I would of only lost 1 month, so still would have left
me with two months to complete my project :P

If these stats are true, then odd how the first image that showed up for
voting, got rated the poorest out of all. Coincidence? :P

Considering my placing in this round, I guess I should just eat
humble-pie, shut up and be happy. ;)

For the current round, I think if I can break my reccord of 12'th place,
then I will be happy. That, or time to call it quits.
