Yes, that is unfortunate. It may be true that the topic is not dependent on
the description, but I'm sure some voters won't feel that way.

I think that the similarity of so many topics is another indication that
only a very small group of people are voting.

I do vote on the topic list. and I usually gives a 'poor' level to topic
which are far too closed. And it get a better level if I can think of
more than one 'typical' (openess to borderline interpretation is good too).
Perhaps I'm alone doing such, everybody else voting for its own entry ?

It "naturally" originated in your mind didn't it? Go for it.

I like to use raytracing to create 'impossible' scenes and make them look as
if they were real. Ok, we can experiment a lot with perspective, texturing,
lightning and atmospheric effects. But why raytracing landscapes which are
already real (and even looking more natural on photos?). I'm missing some
fun in interpreting the theme and compositing a nice scenery this time.

As I read here, there are very good ideas in interpreting the theme and I'm
very sad I will never see those pictures. So have some courage and render
your ideas, that's what raytracing is for (and not winning any
competition)! And if you don't want to submit, post your images in the
newsgroup so everybody can see what really "spectacular landscapes" are
looking like!

I think the topic would be ok., but the description is "off-topic" to
raytracing!!!

render on

So, did any of you complete an entry based on your "unnatural" idea? If so,
I'm looking forward to seeing it.

No, I'm not going to enter this round, maybe in the future (with other topic

That's a shame. Judging from ftp://www.irtc.org there won't be many
entries. There's 33 at present. I hope there's a good surge tonight and tomorrow.

Mine isn't going to be finished because I know I can't do what I want to do
in time, but it looks ok(ish) so I'm sending it tonight.

Sure there will be. In past rounds it had be that way.

Good luck Steve, waiting to see your work.

Yes, I guessed this might be the case.

Thank you. Heh... all I can say is that it's my most 'labour-intensive,
dream-creating' scene yet. ;)

Did you use your original idea, or come up with something more natural?
