Yes, congratulations!
I noticed that there are a lot of multiple identical comments in many
files (apparently all from the same person), i think it would be good to
remove them. Apart from that 'wbrain' should probably be disqualified.
'home' is obviously not submitted for the topic, but i'm not sure if
that's reason for disqualification.
I enjoyed taking part in this round. It was a small one, but there were a
lot of nice pictures and when looking through it i saw quite a lot of
elaborate comments here and there.
But 25 votes seems really not enough for a statistically balanced result
so i think it would be worth considering some change to the voting system.

I agree. Either that or having more people voting. I myself cannot picture
a round where I submit a pcture and don't vote. For me it's morally
mandatory (but then again, that's just me...)
Anyway, congratulations to everyone who participated with th topic in mind.
You guys are making it more difficult every time for us, unskilled ones, to
get good scores. Well, good for you, and let this be a challenge to us all.

Does a person have to submit a picture to vote? I would be pleased to vote
in the next round, but am not interested in competing at this time.

Generally, yes.

There are a select number of experienced and trusted people who have
been appointed as "panel" judges who may vote without entering the
contest. You may apply to become a panel judge but there is no
guarantee that your application will be accepted.

Unfortunately, I am at this point neither experienced nor trusted. Perhaps
in time.

Ken, can you please explain what you mean by 'trusted'?
I want to judge, and feel that I 'can' as regards 'Artistic Value' but
feel that I don't have the expertise to judge yet in other 'values' such as
the 'technical' department.
Is this what you mean?

Trusted by the IRTC admin. to remain fair and impartial in their voting.
How they determine this is anybody's guess. I, for example, was approved
as a panel judge. I was pretty well known in the community by the time I
applied which may account for my acceptance.

I think that they want people who are at least somewhat knowledgeable in
a wide variety of 3D graphics programs and styles and who can judge an
image for all of the elements required to achieve the finished results.
It takes more than just saying "This image kicks-ass so it deserves a
20!". I think it would be fair to say that if you yourself don't believe
that you can judge an image beyond its artistic value then you are not
yet qualified to be a panel judge.

I agree, that's a fair comment Ken, thanks for your reply.

I applied twice before they accepted me, but I think that may
just have been because they were very busy.
I am particularly interested in the animation contest, and make
an effort to vote in that one when I can, since participation is
lower in there than still. Since I have DSL it may as well be
put to some use.
