Some of the Athlon performances that have been posted recently make it
seem poor and old...

Hi Scott,
(ca. 45 MB zipped).
But you should reconsider it, since it would take about 415 h with your
"poor old" computer.
My 800*600 render took about 101.3 h and I have a 1400 MHz Athlon now.
With Win 98SE, no background image, no other programs running and 1 GB RAM
render is limited only by the processor (if you have more than 700 MB RAM at
least).
processor, I would guess about 19 d to render on your machine!
So write to me what you want.
Norbert

I guess it makes a one day difference in terms of render
time? :)
Is your computer so fast that you can post messages twice
with only one click ? ;)

lol!
My Outlook Express behaves strange - every time I send a message, internet
connection terminates by itself.
But this time Outlook sended the message before terminating and then again
when newly connected.
Oh holy Microsoft!

Why bother competing, now? :)
Oh, well, hopefully I can squeeze into top 50% in the next round...
(though that seems more and more doubtful, as I still stick with hand-coding
:)

I ranked 15th of 100 (or 99, depending on how you count) on the Nov-Dec
2000 round with a 100% hand-coded CSG scene (with two hand-drawn
image-maps). It's not impossible.

WOW! That is truly one of the most beautiful images I have ever seen. I'm
still new to POV, but I will not stop trying to reach your level of skill.
Good job! :)
