Congratulations, Norbert!
I really thought it was yet again a photo, then noticed that the
size was larger than past usual photo submissions, and looked at
your text description.
I had trouble convincing me it was raytraced. Looking closely,
I believe it, now. I think you have set a new standard of
quality for POV-Ray images!

Why bother? I'm not interesting.
But... maybe "Ballet pour ma fille" will be.

Thank you, but I really think, its too much honor for me.
I make the same experience like with all of my entries:
When the image is ready, I see only the mistakes. And then I always think I
really should have done it better. This period normally lasts about 3 to 4
months.
Then there is a chance to get pleasure from my own little work.
And its the same with "warm_up".
really good image...

Norbert,
Would it be possible for you to make your complete and final source code
available ? I'd really like to do a good hi-quality, hi-res (1280x1024)
version to use as my Windows desktop (even though, it'll probably keep my
poor old PIII933 busy for well over 100 hours!).

Some of the Athlon performances that have been posted recently make it
seem poor and old...

Hi Scott,
(ca. 45 MB zipped).
But you should reconsider it, since it would take about 415 h with your
"poor old" computer.
My 800*600 render took about 101.3 h and I have a 1400 MHz Athlon now.
With Win 98SE, no background image, no other programs running and 1 GB RAM
render is limited only by the processor (if you have more than 700 MB RAM at
least).
processor, I would guess about 19 d to render on your machine!
So write to me what you want.
