With just 13 days to go at http://www.tc-rtc.co.uk/index/index.html for
the last two Challenges of the year, let me remind you that there is
still time to participate :-)

As you all probably know by now, the TC-RTC forum has been down for
several months and, at this stage, is not expected to come back online
in the future.

Normand Briere (aka DrNo) has taken the initiative to create a new forum
dedicated to the TC-RTC, in the same way as the supposedly defunct forum
was operating.

While the new forum may still have some minor beta testing to do, it is
fully functional and we kindly invite you all if you are so inclined to
visit the (temporary) link:
http://dev.noware.ca/index.php/en-us/forums/tc-rtc and (maybe?) sign up
to the new forum.

There seem to be a few difficulties.

Gurgle Chrome utterly refused to load the page. (Admittedly, I have an
ancient PC and a paleolithic ISP, so perhaps that's the source of the
problem. It often is.)

Seamonkey (my personal no-bells-and-whistles choice for these
newsgroups) loaded the page without difficulty, and I was able to reach
the "sign up" page. "Terms and conditions," however, was problematic.
That link sent me to a very briefly visible page in French (I think;
doubtful that I could have read much of it in English or Klingon either
for that matter), followed by an immediate redirect to a page that
didn't seem to have anything to do with Terms and Conditions. Well,
call me paranoid (we are, after all, living in the Last Days*), but I
found that troubling and just backed out.

Well, maybe it's just me, but at least I tried.

Lower half of that page is in English, redirecting back to out to home page
afterward, and says:

Noware is temporarily redirected to:

http://dev.noware.ca/

You can still create an account, but your bookmarks won't work.

The website will come back soon.

Yes, I was afraid that would happen. I asked Normand to open up the site
/only/ when he was sure everything was working correctly but he insisted
on going live asap. Ah! youthful eagerness :-)

[snip]

I am not involved with the forum any more but I shall bring your
petition to the attention of Normand of course.

The Last Days seem to have been extended, at least for the time being.
We shall keep an eye on you, especially in a month's time.

Yes, that seems to be the - temporary - page for the forum at this moment...

Our apologies for any inconvenience caused, but because of server configuration
problems on the "www" domain the site had to be redirected to "dev".

However all internal addresses (such as "Terms of Use") starting with "www" are
currently redirected to the main home only and this should never happen. The
link has been fixed now.

Thanks for the feedback.

Thanks for your help! (I found the Terms and Conditions to be quite
interesting reading, as was the Privacy Policy.)

Thank you. I appreciate the sentiment. Now: Canned food--check.
Bottled water--check. BB gun loaded--check. Dogs primed and ready to
bark--check. Cat set to Full Insanity Mode--check. Media Player ready
with inspirational bagpipe music and so forth--check. Electric blanket
plugged in--check. (Because, never mind Armageddon--sometime in the
next twelve hours, if the meteorologists are correct, the temperature
here is going to drop about fifty degrees, rather abruptly. Sure,
they're those silly, undersized Fahrenheit degrees, but still. Welcome
to Missouri.)

The cat set at FIM is one of the most successful defences I know of.
From my experience, only to be used at last resort of course.

Good luck with the temperature drop. Always reminds me how blessed we
are here with the Gulf Stream.

Keep them in a barrel for the first 21 years of their life. Then drive

So interesting that I don't want anything to do with it.

And you call yourself a true blooded American woman? Shame on you.
At least three hand guns, a over and under shotgun and a snipers rifle
are the minimum requirements.

I assume it was made from a sustainable source using Philip K. Dick's
Electric Sheep?

Yes, you need more fingers and toes to count them.

Well it is more up to /me/ to thank Thomas for the follow-up!

Since the overall website navigation is menu-based, a link usually leads to a
page with related stuff.

These readings are very generic, and in any case, you are not actually required
to enter your real personal data, so why would you care. Even the email address
is not necessary, though you have to supply one for technical reasons (any a@b.c
is fine).

When it comes to enter some credit card information however, then of course, you
are no longer as anonymous.
