After much work and many delays, we finally have the new IRTC site
online. You can visit http://www.irtc.org to have a look.
We've create a Testing stills round to help us run the site through its
paces. Feel free to submit your own raytraced artwork. It will take a
little longer to get an animations round started - please be patient.
We've captured all the original information from the old web site, so
all the prior rounds are visible. To submit new entries, you must
login. We've tried to create accounts for people who've submitted images
or comments but we can't be sure all the e-mail addresses are still
correct. If you have any problems at all, please e-mail:
irt### [at] irtcorg
We'll address any problems as quickly as we can.
Have fun
David Buck

Damn, now I'll have to keep my promise of submitting to the first
round. (Altough I think I'll wait for the first real round starting
in July...)
Good to see the site reinstated at last. :)
Btw, dark blue text on black background is a bit hard to see in
some monitors. It might be a good idea to change the color to something
lighter.

I'll do that - it's just a CSS change.

If the site doesn't let you register using your e-mail address, it means
that an account has already been created. Just click the gray area
under the login form that says "Forgot your password? Reset it here"
You will be e-mailed a link to reset your password and to set a username
of your choosing.

With Internet Explorer 7, the layout of the Login area doesn't work properly; I
see the text "Username:" above the user name field (which I expect is how it
was intended), but the text "Password:" appears to the right of the user name
field instead of below, poking out of the proper rendering area to the right
and thereby causing a horizontal scrollbar to appear, despite the page being
basically of dynamic width.
(The password input field appears in the next line again, below the user name
input field.)
I had a bit of trouble after registering; from the page where I logged in first
time (not sure whether it was the "we'll send you an e-mail" page, or the
"thanks, your registration is complete now" one), clicking on any menu item had
no effect except re-loading the very same page.
Will there be a mechanism to remember me, so I don't need to log in again every
time I visit the site?

I tried resetting my username/password like this, and after entering
the new info in the "password change" page, it just jumps to the same
page with the message: "There is a problem with the information you
provided. Please try again." It doesn't change my password.

The "About" page images don't work.
I'm missing terms of use, competition rules, and some such.

The IE issue should be resolved.

That's coming soon. We just have to enter all the information and get
all the links right.
I'm redirecting followups to irtc.general which is likely more
appropriate for this purpose than povray.general.
