I use a tiny free program called "Split" that was written by Syed Nasir
Alsagoff of Snake Soft in 1997. It will split any file, and also outputs
a BAT file that contains all the commands needed to join the bits
correctly at the other end. The recipient of the split file doesn't need
to have a copy of Split in order to reconstruct the original file.
It's small, free, fast and does the job, but you have to run it from a
DOS prompt.
