Maybe you cut a hole in the doorframe so the board on the ground would
show through. The hole probably wouldn't be visible in the shadow at this
angle. On second thought it sounds like a lot of work to figure out how to
slice it like that...

You don't mean to say that you got the board in front of the doorframe
*by accident,* do you?

As for the grass, yours is some of the better grass around. If you want to
improve it, I suppose you could use a bozo pattern to vary the color a
bit. Or an image_pattern, if you're using MegaPOV or POV 3.5.
