I understand the position but if we don't actively care and do something
the community will continue to shrink, and then for what justification will
the developers continue their work? How will we attract new developers when
the original ones retire their grand effort?

There are many ways to effect change. Simply creating and posting beautiful
works which can be picked up by search engines and linked to Pov is one. 

The trick is to get the engines to find them and then get people to realize
the work came from pov. Perhaps a small watermark in a corner would work,
since even in image searches people will see it came from Pov.
