I'm not so sure whose idea the T&C's were. I won't jump down their throats
immediately, firstly because they're *Pink Floyd* and already have all the money and
fame that they could possibly want. They simply have no need to exploit artists for an
album they released *50 years ago* and which has been earning them royalties ever
since.

And, secondly, because I clearly remember them being whipped in the press for
literally months after the "We don't need no education" video was released.
Specifically the tabloids made it quite clear that "the children were never paid their
promised fee" (or words to that extent) without further comment as to *why*, with the
clear intent of leading the public on to blame the band for being shady (I was even
thinking that, something I regret).

The truth was that the headmaster of the school from which these kids came - who had
initially agreed to their participation - upon seeing the actual video was horrified
and refused to pass on the payment. But that doesn't make good press ... I was still
hearing echoes of this story even a decade later.

Due to this I will always give PF a bit of 'outrage leeway' for want of a better term
because of the way they were treated by the tabloids and the fact I was fooled the
first time (fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me ...)

That said, if "exploitation" is really what the rules in this competition were
intended to do then I suspect there's a few too many lawyers, hangers-on and
sticky-fingers third parties between the band and the public rather than the band
suddenly deciding they need some free(ish) art for a 50 yo album.
