Hmmm... just typing apt-get install boost* is somewhat of brute force
method - about half a gigabyte will be downloaded and, after
compression, even more disk space is lost! Three weeks ago, with an
already clogged system partition, this way of doing it led to my system
crashing completely...
But as long as new-made harddisks are affordable even for the poorest
tenth of society (which includes me), this might be the strategy of choice!
But... with some essays on peak oil I've read recently, I ask myself how
long this can go on... what about a thread "Peak oil and the future of
raytracing" on povray.off-topic?
