Sounds like a DIY project.

I was thinking about trying it with a polystyrene ball.  Point the fan 
upwards.  Throw the ball up into the ring.  The air flow carries it 
through.  Then would it be trapped in the stream above the ring by the 
Bernoulli effect ?
