Kennedy Space Center is a favourite destination of mine.  I went to 
school in Daytona, but didn't spend a lot of time at the beaches.

There is a nature preserve around KSC as well (or at least there used to 
be - but I can't imagine it'd be gone), which I think makes it a very 
interesting mix of nature + technology.
