Unrelated to your question, but... At work all our servers used to use 
Ultra320 SCSI drives. This bus has a max transfer rate of 320 MB/s.

Then again, when you have 6 drives on one ribbon cable, having the cable 
support up to 320 MB/s suddenly makes a lot more sense...
