I have literally *no idea* why the hell I have a copy of Computer
Weekly. It was addressed to me, but no idea how the hell these people
know how I am or where I work.

Anyway, this one amused me. There's a full-page spread. It shows a
picture of the London financial district. And splashed across it are a
bunch of newspaper cuttings like "40 million credit card numbers stolen
from TJX", "HM Revenue & Customs data loss leaves 25 million exposed",
etc. At the bottom of the page it says this:

"Think your network is safe from DATA-STEALING MALWARE? Think again."

Um, OK?

"Data-stealing malware is on the rise. It's smarter, faster and more
advanced than ever and it's infiltrating the most secure enterprises.
Yours could be next."

Seems a gloomy yet plausible pictures, right?

"But with Trend Micro Enterprise Security [...] you'll be safe."

This is, word for word, what it says.

So this all-powerful malware can penetrate "the most secure
enterprises", but if you'll just hand over all your cash to us, we'll
give you the magical wonder bullet that will make it all "go away" so
you don't have to worry about it anymore. No, you don't need to plan,
you don't need to think, you just need this special whizz-bang. It's a
silver bullet for all security problems.

At this point, I want to grab these people and bitch-slap them.

As *if* computer security will ever be that simple...
