An easy way to fix this is to add these to the end of your master POVRAY.INI
file
; Picture brightness
Display_Gamma=1
File_Gamma=1
For me the only setting that makes "normal" looking pictures is 1.0, higher
values look to bright/washed out.
Sorry if you don't agree but it works best for me...
