More accuratly, each turn you tap your lands, play some creatures (to block 
or attack) and cast some spells

Lots. There are lots of tournaments every year all over the world. If
I visit the local gaming shop over the weekend, there'll be anywhere between
3 and 5 games in progress. At gaming conventions there are usually hundreds
of people playing.

You think it would still be around and still getting additions, new chapters
and the like if no one played it?
