This reminds me of a fellow I knew during the 2002-2003 time frame.  He 
was a civilian filling the civil engineering position in our unit.  I 
learned that he had been a sniper in the Marines during the Vietnam 
conflict, and that during this time he had over 130 confirmed kills to 
his credit.

Most people never even take so much as one human life in the heat of 
some strong emotion, so to do this over a hundred times, in an even 
temper, is something not seen every day.

He didn't talk about it much, although he did not object when, with much 
pomp, we nicknamed him Sniper.
