Not sure what you are looking for with photography, but something you 
might not think of as a Manhattan-bound tourist are the 'elevated' 
subway tracks found in the boroughs. The 'Broadway' stop on the N-W line 
in Astoria, Queens is a favorite on mine.  Or maybe the stop at Flushing 
and Broadway (different Broadway) on the J-M line past Williamsburg. Of 
course Coney Island is always a photographer mecca.
