In univserity, my phone number was the same that you dialed to get MCI's
charge-to-my-phone-card tone, if you didn't wait for the dial tone and
thus didn't get out of the PBX. It took me about three months to figure
out what was going on with dozens of people a week calling me up in the
middle of the night, saying "Who the hell are you?" and hanging up
again. Eventually I had to put a message on my answering machine
explaining the problem, and it slowly cleared up.
