Yes,

I use a Wacom Intuos tablet.

Works wonderfully for photo retouching, and other digital imaging 
applications. I've not used it with much modeling stuff, but would work 
great for texture generation, etc ..

Most retouching and paint programs are pressure/tilt sensitive with the 
tablet, so there are plenty of effects that can be achieved.
