Is that what you mean?

POV for windows comes with CodeMax, so this
is a Linux question right?
I think POVclipse runs on Linux.

It probably is a good idea to bundle some editor
with code highlighting for Linux.

Or maybe he meant a way to render a file without
the editor? POV already has such options in the
Windows version ...
1.3.1  Special Command-Line Options

If he's talking about a GUI frontend then this is
just a typical gripe. POV can render things from
various modelers! Why limit yourself? POV can
render things that other renderers can't, yet
somehow this gets twisted into POV being
bad. If rendering program X can't do scripting
and true surfaces then that is the program that
is doomed, not POV.
