Yes, generally SSH implies SFTP.
And I'd be surprised if you can't synchronize using SFTP. I don't
really do that, though - I just use Subversion (which they provide...).
You don't HAVE to use SSH - but I think if you can use UNIX, you should
get it - much easier editing files that way.
