I think it's more that paths naturally follow where someone wants to
walk. Random paths are going to be "wrong" no matter how you perturb
them, because paths by their nature aren't random.
Paths leading from cluster-of-signs to cluster-of-signs would make
sense, altho obviously harder to do.
