It don't think it's dividing by zero, it is.
with x=y=z=0 you have: 0*0/(0*0+0*0+*0*)= 0/0 whitch is undefined.
Just add a very small value to both terms:(z*z+1e-9)/(x*x+y*y+z*z+1e-9)
