Note also that they had a real-time raytracing demo running based on a
specially-modified POV 3.7 which we threw together. It maps a live webcam
image onto a moving* curved reflective surface at 320x240 with no AA. IIRC it
was getting upwards of 7 frames/second.

* actually the camera was moving, not the scene. we were using the new
features of the POV backend that allows re-rendering the same scene
multiple times without the need to re-parse or re-bound it. I will try
to make a recording of it here and upload if anyone is interested. it's
rather fun to play with.
