You know, back in the day, you needed a Cray supercomputer just to even
think about being able to do what you can do in under a minute on a
modern desktop. I'd like to see an actual time-cost of doing things
'the hard way' with software handling the precision out to whatever's
sufficient to remove precision-related artifacts, all I've seen is
people insisting that it's too long to be of any use.
