Thank you. Here's a short explanation:
I made some macros that traverse a grid of randomly filled
cells and identifies faces, vertices, and edges that defines
the overall shape that all the cells form together.
These faces, vertices, and edges are then passed to a couple
of macros in John VanSickle's "New Surface Subdivision Suite":

- which finally produces the smoothed mesh.
