I really don't believe there is a problem yet.  I'm using the configure 
options as described by Ken Cecka in his 8/3/2002 post to this group. 
It has always served very well with my linux builds.

I'm very new to FreeBSD, so I'm not sure if the same configure options 
apply to both systems, though looking at them they seem fairly generic. 
  I think I'm missing something on my system -- probably some failrly 
important lib, knowing me.

When I get back to the system, I'll post the error info when I try to do 
another compile.

BTW -- How do you like running Pov on BSD?  Do you have an opinion on 
its speed?
