And you call that "streamlined" ?
Gilles is right, and, anyway, POV-Ray was never intended to be used in
production. Of course, some "production" features could be of great
benefit (separate "layer" outputs, nurbs, subdivision surfaces,
displacement...), but you should realise that POV-Ray has it's own
"personality", and don't try to make it compete with commercial
products.
